B.Tech Civil Engineering admission

What should be on mind while taking B.Tech Civil Engineering Admission?

This is the admission season across India and the newspapers are flooded with the ads of numerous colleges bragging their facilities and quality of education. Due to mushrooming of colleges, the students are spoilt in choices and a wrong decision can ruin their career. Hence, choosing the right college is necessary from students’ perspective, especially for the students seeking admission in B.Tech Civil Engineering or any other specialization. There are the engineering colleges that claim to be the best in terms of learning and placement. You need to keep a check over a few things to assess the credibility of a college. Some of the important points to look into are:

Affiliation of the college

Before you make your mind to take admission, check the affiliation of the college/ university. Dean of engineering department of a UGC approved university in Jaipur said that the colleges not affliated to AICTE or any university should be avoided by the students. Their future in such colleges is endangered and they should check the affiliation of the college well-before applying for the admission.

Faculty of the college

The faculty determines whether the college should be on your list or not. Count on the expertise of experienced and well-qualified faculty members. Also, know about the international guest faculty panel and how frequently the guest faculty lectures are held. You can easily browse the website of respective college to get in-depth information about their faculty members and visiting lecturers.

Scope of learning

The study of engineering is no more stereotype where students aced just by revising the books. Now engineering is all about innovation and experiential knowledge. A reputed engineering college lays emphasis on pragmatic knowledge of the students. They establish research labs and COEs (Centres of Excellence) in collaboration with the tech-giants like IBM, HCL, etc.

Placement record

Placement is the most important factor for a student. It’s always vial to know about the past placement record of the college where you are seeking admission. It will help you gain the insights of how your future is going to be after completion of B.Tech. Average CTC and maximum CTC of an engineering college testify its industry acceptance ratio.

International collaboration

In the modern days, the colleges have academic tie-ups with renowned international institutions. Try to find if your college is offering such an international collaboration. It will help you study any of your semesters at foreign university through student exchange program. The companionship of international students helps you gain a global perspective.

The above said points are the major factors that should be pondered while endeavoring for B.Tech Civil Engineering admission. Choose only those colleges as shortlisted ones that fulfill all the above said requirements. Else a wrong choice may lead you to witness the darkness of failure. Most of the edu-experts always advise the students to select the best engineering college where they have ample opportunities to prosper their technical knowledge and innovation to learn the engineering thoroughly.
